JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: The Aerospace Engineering Technician will provide 3D modeling and engineering data design drafting support in the development of Model-based Technical Data Packages (MTDP), sustainment of 3D models and associated production level drawing, product manufacturing information and legacy data revision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Develop Model-based Technical Data Package (MTDP) of aerospace equipment consisting of parametric 3D model development, Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), associated 2D graphics display states or 2D associated drawing data sheets, Bill of Material (BOM) and product data structure in Teamcenter or Metadata for the Joint Engineering Data Management Information and Control System (JEDMICS)

  • Support MTDP revision of 3D models, associative 2D drawings, PMI data, BOMs, development of Engineering Orders (EO) and creating repository metadata
  • Support Legacy Technical Data Package (TDP) revision of existing AutoCAD and digitized drawings utilizing raster editing software, PixEdit and Adobe products
  • Support Engineering Data Management by providing guidance to customers during development of drafting projects and work with Drafting section to learn and understand current Air Force requirements for the development and revision of organic TDPs and proper application of EOs written against vendor-owned TDPs
  • Resolve and coordinate any outstanding issues with new or existing engineering data
  • Provide Technical Data Services by utilizing/interfacing with existing technical data systems such as JEDMICS and Teamcenter

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six (6) years of experience as a Journeyman Engineering Technician
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Siemens NX 3D Modeling software and SolidWorks
  • Proficient in the development of fully annotated parametric 3D models that include all required Product Manufacturing Information (PMI)
  • Proficient in the development of derivative (associated) 2D drawings fully defining a production level Technical Data Package (TDP)
  • Proficient in the development of Air Force EOs describing all changes related to a specific TDP revision action
  • Proficient in the management of engineering data change processes and responsibilities as it applies to configuration management and revision control, validation, verification and incorporation of EOs into applicable TDPs
  • Knowledge and understanding of ASME Y-14.41 Digital Product Definition Data Practices
  • Knowledge and understanding of Geometric Tolerance requirements as described in ASME Y14.5 Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Able to review data and perform quality assurance procedures to ensure modified drawings are compliant with ASME Standards, AF requirements and policies
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or understand how to effectively import and modify .dxf files within Siemens NX
  • Knowledge and able to use PixEdit 2D and raster editing software

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design Manufacturing Technology or equivalent
